Sophie Mullen is an experienced environmental professional who provides high-quality results and assistance to companies requiring expertise in environmental management, ISO14001, permitting and regulatory compliance. As the world continues to demand that industries develop resources in a sustainable manner, Ms. Mullen strives to help businesses maintain their competitive edge and viability while ensuring they conduct their operations in compliance with newly emerging environmental regulations.

To complement her more than nine years of practical experience, Sophie has a Masters of Science degree in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC and an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Guelph in Ontario. Her background and education have allowed her to apply the principles of sustainable development through her research in beneficial uses of residuals for reclamation and landfill closures successfully.

As a trained ISO14001 EMS Lead and Internal Auditor, Ms. Mullen has assisted facilities with the development, implementation and maintenance of their Environmental Management Systems, which were subsequently registered to the ISO14001 Standard by a third-party auditor. She has audited facilities for compliance with environmental regulations, as well as, conformance with their EMS, to help them continuously improve and minimize their impact on the environment.

Companies she has worked for include AbitibiBowater Inc., Teck Cominco, and Rescan Environmental Services, all of which have given Sophie opportunities to be responsible for environmental monitoring, permitting (waste, water, and air), maintaining environmental compliance, liaising with government agencies, EMS development, project management and waste water treatment.
